Mon, 15 January 2007 Common Loss is a podcast series about how dementia is viewed and cared for in a variety of ethnic communities in Hamilton and Halton (communities in Southern Ontario, Canada). But, we'll kick off the series on Wednesday, January 31 with a recording of a public lecture by Dr. Paul Fraser, Principal Investigator, Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (CRND), University of Toronto. The lecture will take place on January 30, and you'll get it hot off the lectern.Dr. Fraser's lecture is titled "Alzheimer's Disease On the Road to Recovery" and will be simultaneously translated into Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Somali and French. Like this series, the lecture points to the ASHH's committment to reaching out to the diverse community it serves. The remaining podcasts in the series will feature interviews with representatives from a range of ethnic communities and how they cope with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
